Linda bakes these irresistible treats herself and will offer them to visitors of the vineyard/tasting room on Saturday, February 12 and Sunday, February 13. (Tasting fee applies).
Monks Gate is one of dozens of wineries in the Valley planning special events during Valentine’s Day weekend. The theme at Coelho Winery in Amity will be “The Perfect Aphrodisiac,” with the staff offering a selection of wines paired with “sweet and savory aphrodisiacs.” On Sunday, February 13 at 3 p.m., Vintage Voices, a jazz ensemble, will perform classic love songs in the tasting room. At Cana’s Feast, partake in a “wine country-style” Valentine’s dinner on February 12. Chef Lisa works magic in the kitchen where she mixes skill and heart for fantastic culinary offerings. The R. R. Thompson House is located in the town of Carlton, Oregon, just a couple blocks away from two dozen wine tasting rooms and restaurants. The inn is ideally located for a relaxing weekend in the premier wine making region of the Willamette Valley. And the city of Portland with its many great restaurants, museums and shopping districts is an hour away. Traveling west, the spectacular Oregon Coast a bit over an hour away, making the Thompson House the perfect place to stay for your get-away.
Carlton’s Walk in the Park gets underway tomorrow, July 31, and continues Sunday, August 1. We still have lodging available at our bed and breakfast in Carlton today, Friday, July 30 and on Sunday, August 1.
Our bed and breakfast is located right in town, so you can walk (about 15 minutes) or take advantage of ample free parking.
Held at Wennerberg Park, the event begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 8 p.m. on July 31. The hours on August 1 are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Featured are regional artists, local restaurants, notable musicians and over 30 Yamhill County wineries. It is one of northwest Oregon’s premier events of the year — one you do not want to miss!

This will be the 24th annual International Pinot Noir Celebration.
The Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon will be held in the Willamette Valley on Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 5. The race begins at Stoller Vineyards and Winery just north of Dayton and continues through picturesque valleys and farmland to the finish line in Carlton. About 2,000 runners are expected for the event.
Race competitors, friends and local residents will enjoy a Wine and Music Festival at the conclusion of the race. Our bed and breakfast in Carlton is in a perfect location to serve as your home base while visiting the Willamette Valley. You may want to extend your stay to visit the many tasting rooms and wineries in the valley, known as one of the finest producers of Pinot Noir in the world.

For the 24th consecutive year, the International Pinot Noir Celebration (IPNC) will be held on the Linfield College Campus in McMinnville, Oregon from July 23 – 25. This stellar event will bring together over 60 Pinot noir producers from around the world, outstanding chefs, and guests for a full weekend of wine tasting and education. In addition to the outstanding selection of Pinot noir, the event will include group activities, seminars, vineyard tours and meals by top Northwest chefs. Master of Ceremonies for 2010 will be Ray Isle, Wine Editor for Food and Wine magazine. You are invited to make our bed and breakfast your home base while attending the IPNC.
